Love's Song

How can I keep my soul in me, so that
it doesn't touch your soul? How can I raise
it high enough, past you, to other things?
I would like to shelter it, among remote
lost objects, in some dark and silent place
that doesn't resonate when your depths resound.
Yet everything that touches us, me and you,
takes us together like a violin's bow,
which draws *one* voice out of two separate strings.
Upon what instrument are we two spanned?
And what musician holds us in his hand?
Oh sweetest song.
- Rainer Maria Rilke, "Liebeslieb"

How are you, fj? And how is the missus?

I recently finished a story and thought of sending it to you. Hope i am not being a nuisance by doing so. Read at your own leisure, please!

I have sent it to your hotmail account.

I will look for it!

And we're doing fine. The missus, while not her former self, is much stronger and healthier. She's actually back to making meals, tending to pets, paying bills, and attending to her more mundane activities. She was sincerely disappointed in the loss of her football team (Ravens), but excited for the victory of mine (49ers). Throughout both matches, she kept the snacks coming. ;)

I need to go to coffee with a friend now, so will read when I return.

Hope all's well with you and yours.

….scandalous! Wonderfully scandalous! I loved it. It's very "relatable". :)

"Relatable" is what i was aiming for, lol. It means we are still young, yes? heh.

Thanks, my friend! I am glad to hear that the missus is now better. The medicine must be working, it means.
I am good. Was planning a little rest first, but started working on a new story yesterday. Let's see if it turns into anything.

Young at heart, anyways! :)

May the muses visit again, and soon decide to move in with you!
