You alright, fj? I haven't seen you around much lately.

I'm okay. Just a bit busy at work, busy with the holidays at home, and too distracted to do what's important in life. :(

It takes me all of January to recover from December. :p

What's important that you're not doing?

Thinking and exploring my interests.

It's only important to me. I know, very shallow and self-centered... but there it is.

Yes, there it is. Now do it! ;-)

I plan on being very "self-centered" today. Three rolls of film to develop and lots of reading to do. Very important stuff...

P.s. looks like it's my turn to have employer problems. :/

Not too serious, I hope?

Speaking of which, the government felt bad about making me use my leave last October, so they paid my employer for my time. My employer has generously offered to restore my leave, only the amount will push me over the permissable accumulation threshold. So i must use up the excess amount before it gets restored, or i will "lose it". So here I am being forced again to use my leave up by the end of next week....

I hope I'm not the only one who see's the "irony" in it all. :/

mmmm....kind of serious. I can't seem to keep my mouth shut when I see an injustice at work. Imagine that. :p

So now that I've reported some pretty blatant issues, I'm not getting called into work anymore.

No, employers don't like people who speak up at injustices. :(

And yep... retaliation is a frequent reaction.

It's shocking to me the power they have over employees. Power....I'd think it would reside with the employees. No union needed. If enough highly skilled people speak out against an easily-replaceable corporate airhead, I'd think they'd want to change things. WE are the people "on the ground". WE see the damage being done. But no, the employees keep quiet for fear of losing their miserable jobs. They don't realize their own potential.

That's one benefit of me being "prn". I get to work when I want to. I am not beholden to anyone. I can work for several companies and pick and choose my time. It may be time for me to move on...
