I thought you might like the mythology part... of Theseus and Red- Riding hood. How "I forgot" was likely induced by a "repression".
I had a friend that I used to car pool to work with. He told me two things, that his son had gone on a cruise, and that he had seen a wonderful movie over the weekend, but he couldn't remember the name of the movie. When he got to work and passed the large morale poster outside his office door advertising his project team, "The JWST Pirates" he got to his desk and called me. The movie was called "Pirates of the Carribean".
Now his son was on a Carribean cruise.
I'm convinced that he was "repressing" thoughts of work until AFDTER he arrived, and that THAT is why he couldn't tell me the name of the movie.

My brain must be sluggish because I just couldn't keep up with this.

Ok I watched it again and it clicked. Yes, it's that tiny nagging feeling that lets us know that what is repressed is actually desired / avoided.

Yes! Makes perfect sense. Probably also why I can't recall certain clinical details about patients when I'm at home relaxing.
