Happy New Year FJ! And to you too Nicrap!

Anything special you want to do this year?

Special? Nope. I'd just like to get one year closer to retirement with as little drama as possible. How about you? Any of the kids approaching college age yet? Getting them settled in their lives is always a challenge.

I want to travel more this year. It's hard to do while the kids are in school but I love taking short road trips. I'd love to start planning another trip to Italy, but don't know if that's possible financially.

My oldest will be a senior next year. She'll most likely stay home the first year or two while she becomes more independent with her t1d care. Funny though...her brother and sister are already making dibs on her bedroom. :p

I suppose that the grass (or bedroom) is always greener...

My DIL has an implant that monitors her blood-sugar level and send the data to a watch she wears. I love technology! It makes it so much easier for her to deal with her t1d. We went to dinner on New Years, and she's injecting herself mid-meal...

Sounds like she wears a Dexcom and couples it with her Apple watch. It could also be Nightscout. The t1d community does a lot of open source programming to create a closed-loop system (the artificial pancreas, which uses both insulin and glucagon to control blood glucose levels).

I'm glad she's doing so well!!!
